Patient-centered Design
Design for Empowered Patientship is a research initiative that maps healthcare ecosystems in Boston and Milan to examine how patient-driven innovations emerge through co-design and co-production processes. The project documents instances where design influences healthcare innovation, including products, services, technologies, organizational processes, public programs, and policies. By comparing the healthcare systems of Boston and Milan, the research aims to clarify the concept of empowered patientship and identify opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. The ultimate goal is to support a transition toward more patient-centric healthcare systems that enhance agency, choice, equity, and inclusion.
